Vietnam is changing, becoming a more modern country whilst retaining its charm and traditions. It also remains a relatively inexpensive destination – whilst 4/5* city hotels are pricey, mid-range accommodation is still great value, and getting around, eating and drinking are still amazingly cheap.

If you have more than two weeks to spare, you can travel the length of the country and see most of the major sights.
