Meet the team…

Tim Russell

Originally from the tourist mecca of Coventry in the UK, Tim graduated from Lancaster University in 1990 with a French degree and no idea what to do next. After spells as a record store assistant, library shelf-stacker and France’s first ever English postman, he ended up in Paris where he worked as a tour guide, before moving into group tour sales.
He then moved to JAC Travel, one of the UK’s leading inbound tour operators, where he spent an enjoyable five years, culminating in a role as manager of the inbound educational department. He was then poached by Open Destinations to help market, implement and train tour operators in the use of a brand new reservations software, a role which took him to Holland, Egypt, South Africa, Canada, Chislehurst and, fatefully, Vietnam. 
This latter business trip, and his discovery that the weather in Vietnam was much better than in the UK, the women more beautiful and the beer much cheaper, led to a one-year contract to work for a leading Saigon tour operator. Six years, a marriage and a daughter later, he is still in Ho Chi Minh City where, after teaching English & Hospitality and working as marketing director for an IT firm and a 4* hotel, he is now the creative brains behind Come & Go Vietnam’s products, marketing and web presence.

He enjoys watching football, drinking beer, listening to music, occasional DJing, eating, reading/writing, travelling, wasting huge amounts of time on the internet, and, most of all, playing with his daughter Emmie. He can be contacted as follows:

Tran Thuy Nhung

Hailing from the idyllic Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre, Nhung arrived in the big city in 1994 to study at university, obtaining both a teaching degree and a degree in tourism. As the latter seemed more exciting and better paid, she embarked on a career as a tour guide with several of the country’s leading tour operators.
After a decade of guiding tourists of all nationalities all over Vietnam, she decided, in no particular order, that it was time to start her own business and have a baby. Tim was able to help with the latter and is now helping with the former.
Beginning with Bao Su Long car rental, business soon diversified into tour operating, and so Come & Go Vietnam was born. Nhung is now responsible for the company’s contracting, operations and finances, and anything else that requires an ability to speak Vietnamese.
In what little spare time she has, she enjoys watching films, eating snails, beating Tim at backgammon, travelling, and playing with her daughter. She can be contacted as follows:
