Formerly Vietnam’s imperial capital, Hue is a quiet provincial city located on the Perfume River, its imperial past evident in its citadel, Imperial City, royal mausoleums and Thien Mu pagoda. It’s also a great spot for visiting the DMZ area (including the Moc Ba tunnel complex, a more authentic alternative to Cu Chi), scenic Lang Co and the Hai Van Pass, Bach Ma National Park, and Thuan An beach.
Around 08:30 the driver and the tour guide pick-up you at the hotel to visit the Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. You will also stop to visit the Flag Tower, Noon Gate, Nine Dynastic Urns, Nine Holy Cannons, Thai Hoa Palace, and the Forbidden Purple City. Then start your boat trip on Perfume River and a visit to Thien Mu pagoda where you will a vegetarian meal prepared by the local nuns.
